Chapter Summary: Rey continues to adjust to her altered existence, feeling more determined than ever to get some of her questions answered. Returning home from visiting Maz, she finds Kylo has gotten into her beloved collection of antique daggers. The altercation that follows results in a tightening of the enigmatic bond between them.

A new chapter of my Reylo darkfic is locked and loaded. 

Chapter Summary: The precedent of Kylo's new thrall has caused a ripple of interest to spread through the supernatural hierarchy, and covert forces begin to stir in response.

Rey has returned from Rome and is fully absorbed with trying to make sense of her thralldom. She succumbs to a spontaneous surge of homesickness and decides to pay her mother a visit.

Fic Summary: Rey is an independent loner who's managed to triumph over every hardship life has thrown at her. Her cat-like ability to land on her feet is tested when she is singled out by one of Lucifer's chosen—an Archfiend who takes a keen personal interest in her. With a single bad decision and a prick of the finger, she is bound to him irrevocably.

Chapter Summary: Split POV’s: Kylo ruminates on Anakin's surprise visit to Rey. Rey is escorted away from paradise and off to the Eternal City. Her alarm grows when she finds that Kylo seems both aware of and unconcerned over her plans to meet with a renowned theologian. During their flight, he reveals details about how his powers work and makes her an offer she can't refuse.

Summary: Kylo imposes means of control over Rey before releasing her in Rome. Rey is furious and revolts against the shortened leash, taking measures to evade just to spite him. She attends her prearranged meeting with Qui Gon Jinn, a renowned theologian specializing in occult metaphysics. There, she is able to talk about her situation and gains some knowledge about the fate that's befallen her. As their meeting concludes, Qui Gon shares a pivotal bit of information.

Chapter Summary: Rey's Tahitian escape comes to an end when Kylo turns up, dashing her hopes of using distance as a means to evade their bond. He dresses her properly before leading her out for a midnight swim.

Excerpt: Her mouth opened, voice failing as he lifted an exceptional strand of black pearls over her head, looping it once, twice, three times, and still the longest loop hung down past her navel. She watched, wide-eyed as he dipped low, lifting each foot to balance on one of his knees, fastening a short strand about each ankle. Satisfied, he arose to cuff her wrists with a triple strand of the glossy, dark jewels. 

Finishing with his work, he stood back and considered her, cocking his head judiciously. “You are exquisite. There’s only one thing we can improve upon,” he added cryptically, closing in once again.

His fingers crept beneath the straps of her cotton shift. She averted her eyes, her breath catching in her throat as he continued with the pretense of civility, gently slipping them off her shoulders, letting the loose garment fall from her body in a whisper of cloth.

She stood bare before him in naught but pearls. 

They shone in the dimness, draping over her breasts, concealing nothing. She stared down at herself dumbly, fingers brushing over the lustrous strands at her wrists. Beautiful, but her heart sank, for she knew them for what they were. 

Glorified chains.

Chapter 6 of Take It There is posted.

The theme for this chapter is LUX, featuring blush peep-toe Louboutin's, gifts of bedding courtesy of Opulence of Southern Pines, and one Maserati Alfieri. In phantom black mica. You know why.

Chapter Summary:  Rey comes to grips with her new reality about as gracefully as one would expect. She returns to work and delivers a keynote address before being intercepted by her very own monster. Kylo makes an impression on Rose before taking his girl out for sushi. Their conversation yields illuminating details.

Excerpt:  There he was, looking like a secretary’s wet dream, his flawless physique decked out in a crisp button-down tucked into charcoal-grey slacks. The sleeves of his white dress shirt were rolled up over his sculpted forearms, and he iced the image with a pair of slick black-rimmed glasses that she knew he didn’t need.

Rey felt her knees wobble threateningly as fear made her weak. Not here, please, no.

He leaned against the back wall, watching her lazily as he made small talk with several women from her presentation. They seemed oblivious to his marked disinterest, blushing when he spared them a word, gazing up at him from under their lashes and tucking stray locks of hair behind their ears. Several other women lingered nearby like fans waiting for a close-up with their favorite celebrity...as if they just couldn’t help themselves.

Probably they couldn’t. 

A surge of bitterness arose. Such a wicked little game he played, engaging them just enough to encourage their overt flirting, all the while stripping her down, burning her casually with the latent heat of his eyes. He was ever finding ways to twist the knife in her, flaunting the interest of others when she knew full well who he was here for. When all she wanted was for any of these women to strike his fancy, freeing her from the nightmare of his attention.

I’m pretty sure I’ve done something new in the realm of darkfic debauchery with this one. If you read it, please let me know if you’ve ever seen food porn get SO twisted. I’ll excuse myself now and go hide in a dark corner.

Chapter 7 Exerpt: 

Her stomach dropped as she watched the spectacle unfold, a living shadow that swirled and condensed, playing hypnotically about Kylo’s features. His eyes were dark and endless, holding the proprietor hostage. All the air drained from Rey's lungs a sympathetic huff.

Still, it was mesmerizing, and she couldn’t look away as the man’s face grew reverential, his eyes becoming visibly moist as he returned the demon’s stare.

In a moment of clarity, it dawned on her. This is what he does...what he did to me after I made that leap...

Hairs arose on the back of Rey’s neck and her vision sharpened, honing in on the tiny details as she bore witness to the abilities of which he’d spoken. She blinked, tearing her eyes from Kylo to see that the chef looked to be on the verge of ecstatic tears.

Her captor’s voice was like dark velvet, warm and resonant as his words enveloped the man. “Anata no geijutsu wa kanzen ni jikkō sa remasu. Erā wa arimasen.”

He paused, waiting as Toma repeated the command in English. “My art will be perfectly executed. There will be no errors.”

Slowly, the mysterious shadow cleared from Kylo’s visage.

Toma stood in place, his limbs loose, his face the picture of serenity.

Air returned to Rey’s lungs and she swallowed nervously, still watching the chef with no small amount of dread.

The corner of Kylo’s mouth quirked mischievously as he redirected his half-lidded stare to her. “We’ll have the torafugu, and make it hot.”

Chapter Five of my Seattle-based Demon-Kylo darkfic 

Fic Summary: Rey is an independent loner who's managed to triumph over every hardship life has thrown at her. Her cat-like ability to land on her feet is tested when she is singled out by one of Lucifer's chosen—an Archfiend who takes a keen personal interest in her. With a single bad decision and a prick of the finger, she is bound to him irrevocably.

Chapter Summary: Rey goes on a long run to flee the truth, but he, *it* catches up to her in the forests of Discovery Park. She makes a reckless attempt at escape and pays the price.

Excerpt: Run.

It was all she could think of, the only remedy for the spiraling horror that festered in her mind. The only thing that made sense as her sanity lurched sickeningly.

Run it out. 

Until you collapse. Until you don’t feel.

Her hands shook as she rooted through her dresser, blindly snatching leggings and a sports bra and yanking them on. Somehow, her running shoes made it onto her feet even as she battled the sob that lurked at the back of her throat.

She glanced down at her fingertip and it made her want to crawl out of her own skin. The writing on her flesh remained, as did his bite marks, visceral proof that this was all real.
