Chapter 3: The Villagers of Redcliffe
Wordcount: 12.211
They've got it rough, those villagers of Redcliffe. Also, Sulri tries to "help".
WARNINGS: - Mention of death of a family member - Mentioned death of and brutality against a dog - Abuse of alcohol - Mentioned sexual harrassment
The man stopped running when he was halfway across the bridge, but kept walking towards them, steadying himself against the lone stone wall.
“I thought I saw travelers coming down the way of Lothering, though I scarcely believed it,” he said. And he really was on the verge of tears. “Have you come to help us, then?”
Astala flashed Alistair a quick look. He looked about as clueless as she did.
So Astala answered, “We have come to see Arl Eamon on important business. What exactly is going on?”
The man gaped at her. “Then… you don’t know? Has nobody out there heard?”
“We have heard that Arl Eamon is sick, if that’s what you mean,” Astala answered.
“Sick? He could be dead for all we know!” the man cried out. “Nobody has heard from the castle in days!”
“What are you talking about?” Alistair now said sharply. “Pull yourself together, man!”

Chapter 16 is up!
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Again, no chapter art for this one. I’m hoping to add some to it later on, but I’m just too tired at the moment. Also another long one, about 2,400 words. I had hoped to do more in this chapter but it was getting too long. Have a screenshot instead:
“Anyway, I heard you thrashing about and thought I should be here tell you when you woke. It was scary at first for me, too."
"It was?" Dania asked. Like when Alistair spoke to her about his own joining, Dania felt comforted by his presence and his words, and once again deeply grateful that he was there with her.
Alistair laughed at the memory of his early days as a Warden. "I screamed like a little girl! Duncan said he thought I had someone in my room. Not embarrassing at all."
CONFESSION:
All I want is a human common origin in the next game. I'd love it if I could create a protagonist like Daveth and rise up. The Noble thing is just so overdone. I want to play a human that I can relate to which is someone who is NOT wealthy and has NO status or rank.
Okay, show of hands!
Who here would have played as a Human Commoner if the Human Commoner Origin was included in Dragon Age: Origins?

What the title says ^^
WARNINGS: - description of battle - character injury - undeath and implied posession
The green fog rolled down the hill like a crawling insect. Astala ran up the hill towards the windmill, sprinting on her toes to make it to the top as fast as possible. There was no fog there when they arrived, not yet. Ser Perth had gathered his knights, and was giving them last orders.
"Warden," he said, a short, relieved greeting, his face pale despite the orange flicker of torchlight. "Here they come."
Fog swirled menacingly around Astala's boots. Unlike the sheets of grey cloaking the Denerim harbor in fall and winter, it seemed almost like a living thing, stretching out towards them. In the hollowway, where it gathered at man's height, there was nobody to be seen.
Yet.
Her fellow Wardens were with her. Leliana and Morrigan had followed them, as had Berwick. They lined up in silence. Their presence gave Astala some measure of comfort.
"Got your things ready?" she asked Sulri.
Sulri gave her a dismissive nod. Her belt, stoppers only visible over the padding, was once again lined with vials, the ones that Bodahn had in stock.
"We're ready," Alistair supplied, and Astala found this reassuring.
She swallowed around the dryness of her throat and nodded. "Alright."
She wanted to say more. A prayer would've been good. But Sulri probably didn't believe in the Maker, and she couldn’t exactly whip out the Father for Berwick. She didn’t even know what Morrigan believed in. Leliana's "Maker keep us" would have to be enough. The fog thickened, and Astala thought she heard a noise. She holstered the axes she had been supplied with.
"Form a line."

Which Origin has the best possible friendship chemistry with Tabris?
Aeducan (holy shit a noble not prejudiced against elves)
Amell (let me impart all my street smarts upon you)
Brosca (hello fellow street rat)
Cousland (i hated your noble guts but you're ok now i guess)
Mahariel (holy shit an actual dalish elf!!!)
Surana (potential lost childhood friend???)
BONUS: Human commoner (we have more in common with each other than with a noble)
No answer/show me the results!
A poll totally not biased by my own OCs. Have fun!
24, 12 and 6! If it's ok to pick more than one :) If not, feel free to choose what you like best!
Hello hello how are youuuu!!! Long time no talk!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩 Thank you for the ask, I'll get right to it ^^ I'm gonna answer for my Dragon Age OCs if that's okay
OC most likely to...
6. to lose their keys repeatedly
Ciar Ainsley! They are a Dragon Age Origins OC, intended to function as a possible human commoner origin. As to why Ciar is the most likely one to lose their keys repeatedly... well, see for yourself with this snippet set at the beginning of the Redcliffe quest:
The chantry door flew open with a loud bang. Several of the townspeople flinched and jumped up. Someone screamed. The chaos died down, however, when the figure in the doorway immediately stepped back.
"Sorry, sorry!" they called out. The voice was clearly apologetic, but even so held a note that almost sounded like laughter. "So sorry, didn't mean to startle you all. Anybody want to help me with these ducks?"
"Goodfellow Ainsley," bann Teagan said quickly. "A moment, if you please?"
"Oh!" Ainsley looked at their hands. "Sorry. I just... I had to wade through mud. I'll wash my hands. So sorry, my lord!"
The door shut again, and once more it did so loudly. Bann Teagan stared at it with unmitigated surprise. So did everybody else; nobody made a sound. Only Morrigan let out a little scoff.
They are chaotic 😌😌😌
12. to sing when they think they are alone
Marelas Lavellan! He has a lovely singing voice, rich and warm (if not deep). However, outside of stipulated rituals and other ceremonial occasions, he doesn't sing in front of people. He was incredibly anxious as a younger man and this is a holdover from that time. If he tries to sing in front of people just for fun, there is a chance his voice might just lock up and he won't be able to get a sound out. When he's alone, he enjoys singing very much, and I imagine Dalish day to day life to be full of singing and handiwork that invites singing to help pass the time.
24. to drag the other's to the dance floor
Astala Tabris. She loves herself a good dance, and she loves dancing with people. It's fun, they're all more or less in sync, she can move around to the music without thinking about any of the many things that make life hard, and just enjoy herself. And she wants to share that with the people around her, especially those she cares about. So, want to dance? She can teach you the steps ^^
