CAN SOMEONE PLS DRAW DIO WITH DIMPLES PLZZZZ I BEG
Hi! I'm so happy I found your blog, I love your writing, especially for Dio ^-^ I was wondering if you could do an imagine of an AU (I guess?) where the Reader is Giorno's mom and its just like Dio, Reader, and Giorno being a happy family? Maybe Dio seeing Reader with Gio and just realizing how important the two are to him? Just some fluffy Dio
A/N: My teeth are rotting from how sweet this is!!
cw: soft dio, AU where dio is human so he can be outside lol
It took forever to convince your husband to take a vacation from work. He had several vacation days hoarded that he refused to use for some reason. But after a few days of "please? It'll be good for Giorno" and some "You need some sun, you're pale as a ghost," Dio finally relented and booked a weeklong cruise. You were beyond excited, as was your son, who was just happy to get out of school for a couple days.
Dio had never really liked the ocean. Its depth scared him a little, and he didn't like to imagine the horrible creatures that dwelled at the bottom. However, he had to admit that it was calming, laying out in the sun while the sea breeze gently blew his golden hair around. (Y/N) was right, I do spend too much time indoors, he thought to himself as he had to apply yet another layer of sunscreen to his neck, which was steadily reddening.
"Giorno? Do you see something?" he asked his son, who was leaning on the railing, staring out at something through binoculars. Dio felt a little bad now that he hadn't spent much time with the 15-year-old lately. What would he be interested in? Islands? Fish? Dolphins?
"A big bird," the boy replied without looking away. "Really big... wanna see?" He lowered his binoculars to look over at Dio with his green eyes and a genuine smile. I'm glad he's enjoying this. "Sure!" Dio stood up and walked to the side, glancing down at the turbulent waters below for a moment before taking the binoculars. He raised them to his face, scanning the horizon, before finally spotting the bird. "Goodness! Look at its wings! It's got to be as long as I am tall!" He stood back. "What could it be?"
"What could what be?"
They turned to see you approaching with a happy smile on your face. Your hair was pulled back out of your face and secured with a stylish straw hat. Dio almost had a heart attack. Damn... she's so pretty, I could cry! He mirrored your smile and held out the binoculars. "A really big bird. Wanna take a look?"
"Sure!" You took the binoculars and looked out, quickly finding your target. "It's an albatross," you identified. "It has the longest wingspan of any bird!" You looked over at Giorno and smiled. "Good job spotting it!"
Giorno smiled as Dio ruffled his hair proudly. "Thanks! I'm going to go get some food!" He turned and ran off towards the buffet, leaving his parents alone together.
Dio sighed and slung an arm around your shoulder, pulling you to his side. It caught you by surprise; Dio wasn't the most affectionate (at least in public). "Are you having a good time?" you asked, worried that he wasn't going to enjoy the vacation you dragged him on.
To your surprise, he smiled more widely than he had more a long time. All the creases of stress were gone from his face. "Of course I am," he answered truthfully. "I really needed this... you were right."
You giggled. "Of course I was."
Dio raised an eyebrow at your teasing. "Giorno seems to be having fun, too... sometimes I wonder if we should have given him a sibling. I'm never around as much as I should be..." His face fell a little.
"Hey." You squeezed his arm reassuringly, your angelic smile catching his eye again. "Neither of us is going anywhere. Giorno is proud that you're his father... He knows that you work hard to support us. Yeah, you need to relax every now and then, but that doesn't make him love you any less. I promise."
Your words struck a chord in his heart, and for the first time in a while, Dio felt truly content. That's right... we're a family. We'll always be together, no matter what. "Giorno is my pride... But you, (Y/N)... you're my joy." He leaned down to kiss you briefly, a kiss that clearly communicated how he felt right now:
I love you. I love you both so much.
Giorno ran back soon after, wielding a plate of food. "Dad! You've got to try this!"
The three of you sat on the deck for the rest of the day, warmed by both the sun and the glow in your hearts.
