Simon Ata is one of the most genuine, humble, and friendly guest coaches I’ve worked with. He’s an absolute beast when it comes to bodyweight skills, but he makes his workshops super accessible to all skill levels and gives equal attention to the participants regardless of level or ability. This was one of the most challenging workshops I’ve done because it was not as handstand-centric and focused on a variety of skills that showed me exactly where I’m deficient. I can’t think of a better way to have spent this weekend.
We got to chatting on day 1 about human flag and I mentioned the insane video I saw of him online where someone stood on him. He asked me if I wanted to do it during day 2, so of course I said yes! After a full weekend of demoing planches, planche pushups handstand push-up, front and back levers, muscle ups, etc, he still did this with ease. He is one of my favorite handbalancers/bodyweight trainers that I’ve worked with and I hope I get the opportunity to train with him again in the future.
