As Phos' parts are broken apart into small pieces with half of it being separated, it will be hard to retrieve all of it. While the theory of the last treasure is on, I'm more worried about what personality and loss memory Phos will have? I think it will be interesting to see them forgetting the earth gems and completely regard them as an enemy when they started to realize Phos had good intention, that would be a nice conflict.
That’s an interesting theory.
If we assume that Phos is indeed becoming human, as in, they’re being reborn, it’d make sense for them to lose memories and attachments to their past life as lustrous.
They still hold onto memories of Antarc for example, but it has been a long a time since they had a flashback or a ptsd episode involving Antarc being shattered (or since they visited antarc’s foot). Since they acquired Lapis’ head to be precise.
While this could mean that Phos is simply healing, it could also be that they’re losing memories or connections to their past.
I don’t know how likely it is at this point but, since Phos’ll probably acquire the seventh treasure by the end of this arc, id still like to elaborate on my old theories that phos will become human and that the human particle is the last treasure.
Think about it. if aechmea realizes that the only reason Phos was able to pass the “requirement authentication” is that they’re becoming more human, he’ll want to make Phos full human, or at least human enough to have Sensei pray (or pray themselves).
and guess who’s been experimenting with humanity for literally thousands of years?
this could explain aechmea’s line up here, from chapter 74. he was planning to monitor phos and sensei from the room we’ve been showed in chapter 77.
after all it’s no secret that Aechmea has other plans up his sleeve and that he tried to create artificial humans through the admirabilis (and maybe the lustrous as well) at some point. the moon still hosts a facility for the ‘synthesis’ of humans.
if aechmea is keeping it open, it means it still has a use or that he hasn’t given up on his plan of creating humans, contrary to what he told Phos.
it might even be that he’s aware of the reason sensei can’t pray, that is: he needs a human command. it wouldn’t be the first time he withholds information from the gems or presents information in a different light.
this could be the reason aechmea wants to bring sensei to the moon. maybe he wants to try something they havent tried yet.
also, phos doesnt feel well when they see the human particle and i’ve always found this an interesting detail.
why would they feel sick? is it because they are a descendant of the humans? do they feel for them? but they didn’t feel anything at all when they first heard about humans. could it be that phos felt sick because they were already closer to a human than the lunarians were?
after all they had body parts from both lustrous and admirabilis. and now they have a pearl eye as well, a lustrous artifact: Phos embodies all three species and we know that these species were originally one, the humans, and then they split.
ofc, there are a few issues with this theory. first of all, something as simple as color: cicada calls the human particle “white,” while the last treasure is supposed to be red (human blood is red tho)
anyway, to answer your question: whether phos acquires the seventh treasure now or later, and whether that treasure is indeed a human particle or a red gem, Phos will hardly be themselves anymore.
still, unless they’re literally reborn (which is likely if they become full human), I think they’ll still remember the other gems and their past self. maybe they’ll just feel a very deep estrangement from their previous life.
thats also why I can’t really see them thinking of the other gems negatively: if nirvana is the objective, it makes more sense for phos’ feelings to become increasingly less polarized rather than hostile.
