It is simply inefficient to treat humans poorly.
For any system to function at its best, each element would need to be at its optimal state.
Human systems are made by, for and of humans.
And so providing the environment for all humans to reach their full potential is a prerequisite for achieving that peak state of any given human system.
A system that therefore has provisions to either limit or directly reduce the ability of any human to achieve their full potential, is effectively running at a loss.
By spending energy and resources to reduce the potential of any given human, this system would be directly limiting its own peak output.
However, a system that spends the resources necessary for any given human to achieve their full potential, will be directly maximising its peak output.
Even if all one cares about is output, it is clear that part of the most efficient way to maximize said output across all axis of interest, would be to ensure the components that make up the given system are operating under ideal conditions.
