Labor Created MEDICARE and the PBS and will only strengthen it.

Dutton and the Liberal party have always gutted it.

Every Australian deserves access to Medicine and Healthcare .

It is ESSENTIAL to VOTE LABOR TO KEEP THIS HUMAN RIGHT

Health care access is Essential

Storytelling is very important. It is through context and relations that we understand the importance of human dignity. The concept means nothing as an abstraction. It’s important for us to understand why people do the things they do, including the monsters—the suicide bomber and the war criminal. Understanding is not acceptance. Understanding is exploring the human psyche. If we want to put an end to violence, we need to have the sort of conversation I had with the teenage suicide bomber.

In Search of a Better World

The MacArthur Foundation supports creative people and effective institutions committed to building a more just, verdant, and peaceful world. In addition to selecting the MacArthur Fellows, we work to defend human rights, advance global conservation and security, make cities better places, and understand how technology is affecting children and society.

In the past I’ve been so delighted to puruse the stories of MacArthur Fellows when they are announced.  But this year I felt so tired, when I read the list I didn’t feel a burning curiosity about whe these people are and what they do.   I suspect many of us nowadays feel our skin is thin. I wondered why I felt the need to steel myself in order to find out more when when I’ve always enjoyed finding out more about the new class of MacArthur Fellows?

I’m not sure, it’s so hard to understand myself at times.I did eventually go to see. I took much joy in watching the short videos of the MacArthur Fellows introducing themselves and their work. The work is hard,  perhaps that’s what I was remembering in my hesitancy  and forgetting all the joy in creating good work.
