The Fall of Twitter
The incompetence over on Twitter is INSANE! I haven't even gone through this so-called 600 post limit (scrolling, posting, whatever) & for most of us, we can't even post anything regular like this:
"No matter what alternative you're thinking about moving to due to Twitter collapsing on itself, it doesn't matter. Soon, ALL of these apps will be worthless. The Internet, however, should be saved for world history, a bit of lost media, & business purposes even w/o the socials."
If I can't say THAT on Musk's app, you KNOW that we're in too deep to be rescued from his insanity. This talk about 'let's move to Mastodon this', move to Hive and Bluesky that'. Let's be real: all of those apps, even ones that aren't even in completion, are doomed to fail due to their silly names & unable to match w/ the long history that Twitter created. Hive, imo, bombed back in 2021 around the time cosplayers were relying to use it during Anime NYC. Bluesky despite having two past Twitter employees creating it, has a terrible name that connects to the animation studio that Disney gave up on after the 20th Century Fox buyout. Mastodon? Really? Why should anyone be connected to an app that's outdated with a name of an extinct ancestor to the modern elephant with most of a certain breed of 'em going extinct b/c of how worthy their tusks are.
Moving to Discord? HA! I can't even stand the many notifications for all of those forums I continue to get. They're better than what you get over on 4chan, that's for sure. Then again, 4chan IS how I know about certain action figures are coming to retailers. I also can find out about which figures that aren't coming to the U.S. over there. Many of those toy brands actually don't care about North America, but that's another 1 of my opinions. I can also get all of that info. via Instagram and Twitter. No matter where we go, we're all going to find ourselves back on Twitter eventually.
