I was in paradise for a week, I stayed at a lovely resort in Varadero, Cuba and met the nicest, most warmhearted, caring people who worked at the resort who would do anything to make sure us customer's had the most enjoyable stay. We spent one of our vacation days out of the resort to visit the real Cuba. After witnessing the honest everyday life of a great majority of Cubans who are suffering due to poverty, rundown buildings, lack of fresh water, the culture change was shocking. We even witnessed a poor local who got hit by a bus while crossing a busy expressway. Wandering the streets of Havana where locals live inspired me to want to help these people and in the future, I want to go on as many Humanitarian Projects as possible to help poor communities suffering from poverty. It was an eye-opener and I would really like to start saving up money to go on my first Humanitarian Project in a couple of years. This was probably the best part of my trip, well let me rephrase that, not the best since it was extremely depressing to see all these locals living in poverty but the most unforgettable part of my trip. The white sand beaches, the magnificent outlook of the ocean and the Cuban dance performances wasn't the highlight, or most unforgettable part of my trip but it did serve as a great escape from reality and it was a dream come true to visit paradise. The part of the trip that made it so memorable was the wonderful people who continue to laugh, play and find happiness in their day no matter how poor they are, or no matter how hard their lives are. Having a glimpse of the parts of Cuba where a fair amount of people are poor has inspired me to want to help poor communities. I really like to work my way into going on as many Humanitarian Projects as possible as I discovered I'm inspired and am very interested in observing and learning new cultures and different lifestyles. I just wanted to express my thoughts and I'll start saving up money to pursue this small dream I've thought up... Now I know a bit of what I want a part of my future to hold, which makes me a bit less scared for the future... I'm still terrified of it though, I still am not entirely sure what path I would like to pursue in general in the future. The future is the one thing that still completely terrifies me to my core....though it does somewhat excite me
