Postgraduate students and staff from Manchester Metropolitan University’s Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences (HLSS) faculty gathered in the No 70 building this week to celebrate Christmas and the end of the autumn term. 2015 was yet again another fantastic year of film, so I thought that I would look back on the films of the year I enjoyed the most, and then decide what I believe my top 10 are. This list is extremely diverse, which I believe just proves how accessible any genre of film can be if you’re willing to give it a try.

Once the Christmas dinner has been eaten and the After Eight’s have being passed around, you might be in the mood to snuggle up under a nice warm blanket this festive season to watch a movie or two. Thing is, TV can be pretty dismal at this time of year and unless you’re lucky and manage to find something to your liking you may just be stuck watching comedy acts from yesteryear (not that they’re bad).
