She stepped back as far as she could, fear displayed in her eyes. Was what she did wrong when she had followed the instructions well? Did she misread one? Did she miscalculate the amount of dye and the duration of letting it rest before washing the excess away? What did she do wrong? All those questions were left unanswered due to the nerve-wracking sensation of failing something so simple since everything was explained.
The fault could only be put on her.
She jumped when her back collided with the nearest wall, clinging onto the wet towel with splatter of dye. “I-I told you it was my first time dyeing someone’s hair!” She objected, raising her tone abnormally. It was a frail attempt of covering her shock despite her expressions betraying her. Junhee wouldn’t have known the effect of the chosen color on the other, the results being far from the illustrations on the box.
From afar, despite all the agitation, Junhee could see the overall view. The new color didn’t seem so bad on him after all. The ruckus was made because of their reactions. Quickly, she ensured that the older man stopped pulling on his hair.
“Oppa! Look!” Guiding him to where she was stationed earlier, she adjusted his posture towards the mirror. “It’s not as bad as you think! You actually can pull off this kind of blue!”
Junhee couldn’t tell if she made a mistake, but one thing for sure, she would have to spend the next minutes or even hours convincing the other.
