#humansoflochac Greetings! My name is Kamara Skleraina and I joined the SCA back in 2014. I was first interested due to my love of history and research but soon discovered a place where you can be anything you want to be and there is always someone (or many someones) to help guide and support you no matter where you go. I love meeting all the different people in the SCA from all different walks of life and backgrounds and sharing knowledge with everyone to better our ability to recreate our part of the SCA. So if you see me somewhere please come up and say hello! I'm really easy to spot as I'm normally the lady walking around in the crazy Persian garb. #HumansofLochac #mysca Meet Mistress Clara - Hi, I'm Lochac's Minister for Arts&Sciences, or as I like to think of it "Head of Lochac's A&S cheer-squad" The best part of my job is being inspired by artisans from across Lochac, we make, research and perform so many amazing things. I'm a mad costumer, I've been sewing and making costumes most of my life. My first official t-tunic is a camoflage t-tunic with calico collar and cuffs I made after begging my mum for some fabric to make some costumes from a medieval costumes book in our local library. There is no photographic evidence and it never made it to an SCA event, but it still counts. I was Laurelled for costuming afew years ago, so have this anecdote as evidence we all start somewhere!! What I love about the SCA is it provides a place to use the things we make, a place to explore "lost crafts", and to geek out with other people who love making things. It gives me an excuse to keep researching how people lived 500+ years ago, and to keep reading history books. (Photo by Apoapsis Photography)

#humansoflochac My name is Kathelyne Berghart and I am most well known for my enthusiasm, and for shooting people in armour with arrows! Pew Pew! I first joined five-ish years ago, because the two housemates I lived with at the time told me that they had found a place where girls were being taught to sword fight. I went along to a fighter practice, but wasn't madly in love with the sword, and instead asked if there was anyone who did archery. When I found out that Combat Archery existed, and that you could wear armour and shoot arrows at people, I knew there was no turning back! After a few weeks, I dragged a friend along, then she dragged her husband, and now there's a bunch of us that having been shooting together through many a War. The picture attached is me in my Combat Archery gear. I have attended demos in my armour, and have told so many people about the awesome things that you can learn in the SCA, but I always come back to talking about my one "true wuv", Archery. #mySCA Photo courtesy of Nadya Nekliodova

#humansoflochac I'm Jean-Christophe le Saussier, variously described as "Lochac's Favourite Fighting Frenchman" and the man with the best call and response to his name in the Kingdom. I joined the SCA in late 2012. I was working mundanely with Alfar and he convinced me to come to training at Rowany Fighter Practice (at the time held at Petersham Town Hall). Instantly hooked. Cons-cruited into House Attica, it didn't take much time to find my home within the SCA. After less than a year of playing, I found myself volunteering for the office of Rowany Reeve....during a rather interesting period of time with changes to how we do things. During my time in the SCA I have been on a Royal Guard 4 times, served as Baronial Champion, currently serve as Chamberlain to the Baron and Baroness of Rowany, hold the office of Marshal within my Barony.
