FIJI wins its first ever medal!!! And it's GOLD!!! Well done, Great Britain on making it all the way to the final!! But this day truly belongs to our 'ragtag bunch of boys.' God bless our 'ginger' man, coach Ben Ryan and the boys who have overcome adversity to be where they stood on the medal podium today! Thank you, Ben, for hanging in there when finances were questionable. Thank you, my blessed Fijian brothers who carried the hopes of not just one nation, but also those of our Pacific brothers Samoa and Tonga. Thank you all for the sacrifices, for the hours spent training that the public never witnesses, for the belief in yourselves and in God that got you this far. When Cyclone Winston hit the islands, leaving some of us homeless, you kept on trudging, content in the faith that God will make it alright. Now, after waiting for 60 years, much like Moses leading the Israelites out of the wilderness, we have been blessed with stellar leaders in both coach and captain. Vinaka saka vakalevu, Ben and Osea.
