Art Basel – a modern and contemporary art fair originated from Basel, Swtizerland, has been showcasing amazing art work for the 4th year in Hong Kong. 187 galleries participated this year showcasing mostly paintings, photographs and sculptures. Thanks to our beloved friend, we got tickets to go to the Vernissage session to get a sneak peak of the fair.
We really wanted to indulge ourselves into an artist world to get inspired and experience things from a different angle. There were many pieces that we liked including the iconic Marilyn Monroe in blue colour.
…umm could the artist be inspired by Avatar?
We were staring at this painting for a long time and trying to figure out what kind of eye the artist was trying to portrait? Dinosaur? Reptile?

This is our favourite piece by Kyungah Ham from South Korea. From far away, we thought it’s a drawing, but it’s actually an embroidery gold chandelier. You can imagine how much work was put in there with all the details stitches to make it so vivid.

We barely finished within 2 hours on 2 floors, but there were definitely more to explore. The Art Basel last day is tomorrow March 26, would be a lovely activity for this Easter. Looking forward for the 2017 Art Basel already.
