I’m from England in a village called Hunmanby. We’re near the sea and the main street hasn’t really changed other than shop names in a good 100 years or so.
So it still looks more or less like that. The chimney thing near the church tower is from the brewery, but that’s no longer there, it got shut down cause they realised the water used ran through the church’s graveyard :/
We have an old jail and pinfold too (I’m pretty sure my mum has/had the key at some point)
We also have a few old-ish houses and used to have a mott and bailey castle; the village was gifted by William the Conqueror to DeGant who became Lord of the Manor for a while, but it’s been threw a few families since then.
We also have an odd air field command bunker from ww2 (it’s abandoned now, I’ve been in it and it’s pretty creepy, all flooded and stuff) which is though to have merely been a practice on as there’s no record of the village ever having an airfield and aspects of the bunker just don’t match up to how they should be.
But yeah, that’s where I live
