If you don't believe in God or fate, than coincidence is an amazing thing. If you do believe in God but believe he doesn't bother with us, than coincidence is still an amazing thing. But if you believe that God is doing something with the people here on Earth ... that he's got a plan ... then "coincidence" really isn't so strange after all.
Take the coincidence that Ashley Hudson just happened to run into the two hunters she was most interested in meeting - the Winchesters. And the coincidence that Ashley turned out to be the one that helped the Winchesters out the most. Imagine, none of the events that happened afterwards would have ever taken place if not for "coincidence".
Or maybe, God helped out a little more than the Winchesters ever realized.
