Hunter of Demons

There was an inch Scott had almost every night since he was between. Every night especially around the nights of the full moon Scott felt drawn to the woods that made up the Beacon Hills preserve. His eyes panned over the horizon, noting the smells of fresh spring water, deer leapt and galloped away sensing the two new predators in close proximity long before they Scott had noticed them.

Tilting his head to the side Scott caught Liam’s glance. The boy was eager, excitement as pain in his eyes as it no doubt was in Scott’s. There was something about a late night run in the woods. The feel of the cold night air blowing through the hair, cool against their flesh. The pounding rhythm of the earth underneath their feet, like a heartbeat with every step. Liam was itching to get started, Scott could feel it too, hear it as the beta whined softly. With a nod from Scott’s head, they were off. Scott raced east, Liam headed west. The wolves inside them searching, hunting.

It didn't take long for Scott to keep up a familiar scent riding the wind. Thick and heavy, with a hint of copper, blood. With surprising speed Scott followed that scent, chased it down a nearby path and around a large oak tree. The Oni! The demon ninjas clad in black leather and silver masks. Sensing his apporoach to of the demons stared to face him, fear and panic gnawed at Scott's gut making it hard for him to move. "Wha-" Dark plumes of smoke, black darker than the night sky rose up from their shoulders coating them in oily shadows as the glided across the ground moving quickly to close the distance between them.

"What's going on here? Who are you?" Scott shouted towards the large blond man offending off the other four. A blade sliced across his chest tearing a growl from his throat. He dodged left then right, finally ducking undering the Oni's twin kanta blades as they crossed over his back and he side stepped away.
