The paralyzing combination of both knowing there is something in the woods and thinking that it might follow you home."

Bold, curious, and difficult, Jude Kane has long made a name for themself as a brilliant and incorrigible young witch. The elders of House Kane would much prefer Jude's polite silence, but they'd be hard-pressed to make that happen. Anyone who doesn't perform to Jude's expectations is in danger, and not just of experiencing their disappointment. To Jude, failure is unfathomable; death is more desirable.

They stood across from each other, James and Declan, the car lights illuminating the fog that swirled around them, taking the shape of wolves. “You used her,” James said. “You took advantage of how much my mother loved you. But I have no love for you, Uncle. You will give me the sword, or I will kill you, and your wife, and your daughter.”

“You would kill your own flesh and blood?”

Jude’s eyes were drawn to the oily gleam of the pistol James pulled silently from his pocket. “You are not my flesh and blood.”

Of all the Gallagher children, James is perhaps the only to inherit both his mother’s talent for martial skills and his father’s gift for diplomacy. Soft-spoken, yet confident, gentle yet strong, James is a person of many contradictions. He is hardly the type of person to sacrifice his own moral convictions to further his ambitions. But he will also do anything for the people he loves...no matter what that might entail.

Ok lets hit the Huntersverse/Bloodhounds protags for some sweet sweet validation character development

🌙 What are some of your OC’s favourites? Favourite food, colour, season, stuff like that! Give some general simple facts that tend to get overlooked!

Jude’s favorite color is black because it’s practical and sexy, while Morgan and Abidan Deemer like black because it hides the bloodstains. James’s favorite color is green because he’s not a fucking edgelord.

⭐ Does your OC like to sleep alone or do they enjoy sharing their bed? Have they been to any sleepovers? Have they ever been camping? What did they think of the experiences if so?

Jude loves sleeping with James. James spends all night with a pointy elbow in his sternum and does not enjoy it. Morgan will swear up and down that she hates sharing a bed and only does it because we’re married it’s tradition but secretly she loves cuddling up to Arthur because he’s warm. All three of them hate camping because they love showers too much.

Abidan does not let people into his bed. Ever.

🐉 How religious is your OC? Do they pray to any god(s) or do they not believe in that kind of stuff? What is their view of religion in general? Where do they believe people go when they die? If your OC is not religious why not and what do they believe in otherwise?

Jude & James have a complicated, queer relationship with the Catholic Church, but neither hate it quite as much as Morgan, who was excommunicated for brandishing a sword at the Pope (Seriously). Abidan lost faith after his parents died.

🌸 What’s a sentence that would make your OC’s day better? One that would make them laugh? One that would make their day worse? Why? What words would you have to say to them to completely ruin their day?

For the Morgan & James: “Dinner’s ready!” / “It’s your fault they got hurt.”

Jude: “You did it! Good job!” / “I’m disappointed in you.”

As for Abidan, very little makes him happy, but the sound of his niece calling hello when he gets home from class gets the closest. As for what could ruin his day... “You’ll never find anything.”

James Gallagher has spent all his life running away from the life his parents set aside for him. He's not interested in dedicating his life to research like his father or being a mercenary of the Church. All James wants to do is go out into the world with his brother Conan and have some adventures. And then Conan dies, and James watches his parents fall apart in front of him. Left alone with the pieces of the life he once had and his family's terrifying legacy, James faces an impossible task: can he save his bloodline, or will the darkness in their blood consume them all?
