wall of brick
I’m hurtling down a concrete slope straight for a wall of brick
And there’ll be a mighty impact if I don’t do something quick
Head spinning, heart racing, my stomach feeling sick
And I can’t think of any options as to things that I can do
As I’m heading straight into the carnage and I’ll soon be broke in two
I’m whizzing by so fast, surrounding’s all a blur
The speed’s so fast I’m gasping; the crash so certain to occur
I’m summing up the impending damage and it isn’t looking good
And I don’t know exactly how I got here but I somehow thought I would
It’s been quite a while I’ve been heading in this direction
I don’t remember ever feeling safe, and I’ve never felt protected
It’s been the speeding up of the carriage and the steepness of the descent
And all I see is impending doom; my reserves of energy spent
So I’m here and I’m hurtling downwards towards the bricks
Grabbing in vain at anything to be able to stop
And the impact of the crash will be bloody and quick
As my body is shattered in pieces and lifeless it drops

And yet, as he hurtled across the grass and pavement and leaped over fences and dodged cars, Ike felt only November in his soul.

Are internet rumours of a comet hurtling towards Earth true? | Space News
Rumours across social media platforms that a huge comet is on a collision course with Earth have been circulating, with some users describing it as a major threat to humanity. Others are debating how the comet – known as 3I/ATLAS and detected by NASA’s ATLAS telescope on July 1 – might be diverted from the Earth. Some have even gone so far as to highlight “news” of military movements and an…

Picture it. The sky. For miles in all directions the soft orange sky reflects back from the viscera in your eyes to show to bends of the earth in each direction. The stars, a million a minute, hurting toward and past like cars on the highway. Each little pinprick of light like a needle in your retinas. In a nice way. And the breeze. Whipping hair back and skin flaps and all moisture, wicking away and whipping into the wind, gone forever. You’re hurtling! Crashing, Spinning, yet seamlessly gliding through the sky. Forward. Out into the great abyss beyond. Is it a canyon? The reverse of a canyon, stretching deep and wide beyond all possible perception, dwarfing all around it. You are going here! You belong here and you alwaasy have. Sweetly, softly, silently floating through all of space. Hurtling actually, but it feels serene to you. There is something special about returning the place where you belong. It feels a brick just barely stuck on the lip finally sliding into place like a puzzle piece, making the picture whole of course. Is there an end goal? How is it going to end? Does it matter? Not really haha. But there it is. A massive looming black hole, your final destiantion if youre lucky. But alas, you are not. You miss. The calculations were off yet again. You look around at all the useless floating bodies all around and near you. The other failures. Ah well there is no point in thinking about it too hard. More will come and sail past and by and through and maybe one day. One day they will be lucky enough the enter the void. The black hole beckoning to a place beyond and between.
