Hushan Great Wall- Part 3

This is the end of the wall, an extremely steep set of stairs, at the end of which sits a single tower. There were no border guards due to rain, which is the only reason I was allowed photography in this section.

The whole trip took about... 2 hours? I think we could have done it faster, but it was wet and we were enjoying the views.

Hushan Great Wall- Part 2

It was so empty out there. Nothing but the mist and the drum of rain on stone. We climbed up and down over the hills on the steep staircases. It was beautiful and serene. This part of the wall was older than the section I climbed in Beijing, and the plants grew up to and onto it.

Hushan Great Wall- Part 1

The Hushan Great Wall is the eastern-most spoke of the great wall. It reaches the border with North Korea, and it is a very big tourist attraction. It is May 2nd, the day after a national holiday, and I didn’t expect it to be empty, but it is drizzling, and we seem to be the only people moving towards the wall instead of heading back into town.
