Today is #nationaldogday but it wasn't the way that I wanted to celebrate my fur babies. Many of y'all followed the life of Harley, the wonder dog and gentle Husky until his last day with us last year via my social media posts. He was with us for 10 years and his life was cut short because of arthritis and hip dysplasia that aggressively ate away at his bones and joints. It ultimately led to his lower body paralysis, excruciating pain and death. Today we learned that Cooper, also a Husky but only 1 year old, has the exact same hip issue. My heart is broken. Although we have caught it early, we know in advance that our time with Cooper will likely be very short. SO WE ARE GOING TO MAKE THE MOST OF IT WHILE WE HAVE HIM.
