Tribute | Huxley & Kenzi
After what had seemed like a grueling past week in the hunger games Kenzi was relieved to know that there were only three opponents remaining. Whoever had came from her assigned district of district one had recently been killed while in battle. She had made no effort in getting allies and had personally brought down two opponents with her bare hands. Whatever this new world of Panem was Kenzi feared it was what the gods of Olympus had talked about and had kids at Camp Half-Blood train for during their stay. That had been some seventy odd years ago before Kenzi had taken her quest and found herself in a relaxing one month, or so she believed, stay in the Lotus Hotel and Casino. What only seemed like a month had really been over seven decades in the real world and since having been out in the world last time it had became this post apocalyptic world she found herself in now fighting for her life in some sort of game show. It was all a sick idea by whoever had thought it up but Kenzi felt safe. She had the powers of the underworld where her godly parent Hades resided on her side. If worst came first then she could open up a port to the underworld underneath of her opponents feet and scare the living hell out of the broadcasters and make a real show of it.
It was nearly night time and Kenzi had not heard any voices nearby for awhile. There had also been no cannon blasts which meant that no more opponents had died in their line of battle. She sighed and hopped down from her tree she had been perched in before heading down to the river for some fresh water. From what battle she had been involved in so far she had been on the winning side each time, having slaughtered her opponents to save her own life. It however did leave her quite tired and aching from the work she had done. Leaning down to the cool running water she sat down and allowed the water to flow over her body. Normally Kenzi would have been scared to death from being in the water but instead she found it relaxing and was glad to have a moment to herself.
“What have I gotten myself into?”
She asked herself, sighing as she sat back up in the water, looking up at the night sky. It made her think about all of the people she had known at camp so many years ago. They were all gone now and she was alone in the world. That was the fate of her though and she knew she would have to live with it and keep fighting.
