Henry had no concept of time when he was this sleep deprived, uncomfortable and restless until he can pass out the second he sets foot in his own home. His indifferent, sleepy side was strongest on a rainy day, bringing him back to the rare but memorable rainy days of his childhood where he’d curl up with a comic book. He was far from home, but the closed space of the subway would do for now. He lifted his head from the train wall and snuck the corner of his freshly bought Batman issue from its bag, carding through random pages to pass time until he could really dive in at home. So many alternate side stories, new authors, artists, it wasn’t something he followed closely but it was nice to see where classic characters are headed nowadays.
Hopefully the awkward shuffling directly to his right meant the passenger next to him was interested in comics as well. He glanced over from the corner of his eye, hoping to share a quick smile about similar interests but was quickly disappointed. Henry caught the set jaw of a disinterested face as the stranger turned his head away from him. His face looked disappointed, but his body language suggested otherwise, more fidgeting each time he turned his attention to his comics again. There was nothing wrong with it, but Henry’s exhaustion made him feisty, turning his head to stare directly at the stranger until he held eye contact with him, cocking a sarcastic eyebrow. “...is there something wrong?”
