"I don’t want to look at you right now.”
"I don’t want to look at you right now," the tone was just as frigid as the shoulder she just gave him once she turned her back at the mere sight of his shadow. Jack spent the few seconds of silence watching himself mutilate her in his mind and he tempted to act it out as his hand wrapped tightly around her forearm and yanked her towards him. "Listen," The word was forced through his clamped jaw and he gave her a shake, though she still refused to give him a glance. "I don’t know what the fuck your problem is but it stops here." The older absolutely hated to be ignored especially when he put so much effort into speaking to the so-called plebes around him. What gave them the right? Absolutely nothing and he was going to make damn sure that she realized that.
"Jack, let go of me." The words were quiet but she meant every last syllable that rolled off of her tongue, he made her feel entirely sick.
"Where do you get off?"
"Jack—I said let go.”
"I d—" His verbal lashings were forced to a halt once a stranger, a man, interjected. His gentle hand upon the woman’s shoulder as his warm gaze shifted in between the two, "Is he bothering you, miss?"
The words made Jack sick to his stomach akin to the kind of ache received after an exaggerated amount of sweets and junk—the kind of sick that lingered on the back of your tongue, threatening to spill the contents of your stomach. “Oh,” he exclaimed with a drawl and a long roll of his eyes, amusement and annoyance battling on his bleak features. “Look at this fuckin’ bloke. She’s fine—right, Yoonjo?” He asked her with a shove of her arm as if to force the lie from her mouth and he reached forward to brush the stranger’s hand from her shoulder, not even leaving a second of rest in the conversation for the woman or man to speak. “Now, why don’t ya’ go and mind your fuckin’ business and return to the mundane life you were living before you decided to be a hero and attempted to collect a cool story to yap about to your dull friends.” He spoke each word through his cheshire cat-like grin and his chilling stare as he yanked the woman to his side, almost shielding her small frame beneath his.
