Homework #5
For this week’s homework, I was asked to look at and report on 2 prediction markets other than intrade.com. They do not need to describe themselves as “prediction markets.” As long as they have some qualities of a prediction market.
1.) First prediction market I chose is PredictIt. It seems to be set up how InTrade was described to be. They have pretty much the exact set up. Both involve a search for predictions. You can make your own predictions. You can even trade your shares as well. My second prediction market is Prediki. They are a self-service prediction market platform. They allow you to set your own prediction market, the giving of incentives to your crowd with money and prizes of your choice, and have flexible plans to help capitalize on large-scale corporate markets. They even have suggestions of books to read on prediction markets.
2.) There are trades that could cause the market to turn into a echo chamber. This is where the same information is circulated and this ultimately leads to a stagnant market.
3.) So I do not really have a stance on this topic. Yes, bad things happen to the good people. And yes, good comes to those that do good. I’m sort of on the fence with this. Good comes to those in many ways. Karma does have a way of just making things happen. But, karma also does its job. Whether you did good or bad. Your karma come to you when it sees fit to come for you. I guess I would say that it does not matter what is done because karma takes care of you how you take care of others or a situation. Whether it is years down the line or moments after the deed is done. Karma is like the overseer, I guess.
4.) My project topic will not effect my personal life and any way, shape, or form. I will probably not be alive to see flying cars. I could see it effecting my life by making it a little be easier for travel to various locations. I would be able to avoid all traffic and cut my time of arrival in half because there would not be anyone in the way to slow my progression to my destination. This would also make my life easier with no insurance. If the vehicle is self-driving, I would not need insurance because the software would make my commute much safer versus if I was driving myself. I am not a bad driver, but my way of driving is not the safest either. This would lead to more money in my pocket for everything else that I may have going. Like buying groceries and paying for any other necessities.

6.) Based on my work on this topic, planning will progress me towards my vision. I would have to plan out my vision so that I can achieve this. Planning is super CRITICAL to this vision.
7.) This part of the vision is in effect as of right now. I have been working on this vision for approximately 12 years and I have made some changes that would help to get me to my goal. I have not yet had any problems occur yet, but just timing being slightly off some.
8.) So things are falling into place now. Everything is going as I hoped for. If it does not, I have to resort to different ways of thinking to get on track to my end goal. Maybe construct a plan B for emergencies. Something that would help to keep the goal attainable.
