I saw a bat today, it's arms too long had grazed my face. It's chest so large, it'd surely hold two lungs too big. It's wings were big! Of course they were. They flapped really loud! Though not as loud as my heart pound when it climbed on my back, scrambling, clawed. It scraped and stumbled til it reached my shoulders.

I didn't have it in me to move.

I saw a bat today. He'll whisper secrets in my ear, I know it, I simply don't know when.

I know my God is appalled and I'll atone one day, as soon as this bat stops screaming.

Rhys’ Soulmate Mark from my fic, Hello, Welcome Home! It’s not exactly how I wanted it to be nor how it’s described in the fic (I’m not good at metal/metallic textures) but I tried my best. Besides, this was done on a whim.

Funny story about this too. This was done while working on the chapter it was finally described in - Chapter 11. I only did it because I got really worked up and frustrated with myself while writing. Once I thought I was done with the chapter, I realized I made a huge mistake and ended up having to redo approximately half of it. Note: that was around 5,000 words that needed to be re-written. Ugh. It was because of that that I got so pissed off at myself and decided I needed a slight break before coming back at it. Thus this was born within a couple hours.

I’m not happy with it per-say but I’m happy with the time I took. I was smiling and excited to finally put this into something I could show everyone while making it. I mean, I’ve had this sketched out in my sketchbook in early December 2018 - not too long after I started fleshing out HWH. So yeah, not completely happy with how it turned out but satisfied with the time spent on it.

TL;DR If you’re frustrated or angry with something, take that energy and funnel it into something else that is both productive and enjoyable.
