"Hey Toby?" earl called over the small whines of the newest addition to the family, "Will you come help me with Jade?"
“Coming!” Abandoning his history book, Toby went running to Earl’s side. “Whatcha need help with?”
(ik the whole dying thing just happened but i need some paradise tbh) Upon hearing her father walk through the door, Jade went absolutely nuts. Immediately the child began to flap her wings, squealing loudly and excitedly as Earl smiled, slowly standing. "She missed you today." He called from the kitchen.
Marcus snickered, shaking his head as he sauntered into the kitchen with a stretch. “I can tell.. I missed ‘er too. Both of ya.”

"You're not going to believe," Earl rustled in a pink bag for a moment. "What my mother," he pulled out a small package and turned it towards Marcus. "Got for Jade." He finished before opening the box. Inside was a teeny pink shirt, just Jade's size, that read "Rich Bitch"
“…Christ.” Marcus blinked at it, holding it up and inspecting it carefully. “Yer mom has like…hella weird taste, gorgeous. S’true as it is or whatever…s’kinda… eh.. fer a lil’ girl.”
"Toby, sweetie, c'mere. Let's have some hot chocolate and watch T.V. or something."
“Okay!!” Abandoning his history book, Toby ran down the hall and skidded to halt in front of Earl, giving him a fierce hug in greeting. “C’n we have extra marshmallows again?”
