"...you don't look like the type of person to listen to that."
These two and 18, definitely.
Character Pairing & Theme - Love
It was said in the way they exchanged glances from day one, the way that blonde woman had felt her attention captured by her evident skills and talents when it came to the job at hand. She had come across many, but never had they been impressive enough to even warrant a second glance-- yet she did, something to definitely not be pushed aside if she was really honest with herself.
It was shown in the way fingers would softly glide over silken tresses, the way skin was stained with shades of reds and purples and the most subtle of marks would linger well beyond their initial point of creation as a way to inform all eyes who would wander that the spot in question had more than definitely been filled and it would not be freed up any time soon. It was subtle, yet definitely not. Those who knew did not question, and those questioning clearly did not know, a content way of life most had casually slipped into.
It was shown in the way lips would meet for the briefest of moments, often more so as arms would hold, linger, press in all the right places to show complete and utter adoration alongside sweet nothings murmured in the covert silence of their abodes. Which is where they found themselves, once again, curled softly without the confines of their clothes and smoke idly drifting into the air with her heavy exhales.
Tresses had been pulled, tugged, skin bitten and bruised, and yet all she could do was smile as the dark haired one rested gently, silently atop her chest. She was surprisingly still, her fingers resting over her toned abdomen as the gift of sleep had finally overcome her after such.. personal activities. But Shion didn't mind. She enjoyed the way her lover looked dozing so soundly against her smooth flesh.
Her cigarette was discarded off to the side as she wrapped herself gently around the enforcers sleeping frame, pressing lips to the crown of her her head for the briefest of moment before sighing contently
"I love you, Yayoi-kun"

Dependence had never once been acceptable in Asuka's life. Especially in her line of work and training, asking others for help was absolutely intolerable. There had never been a problem she couldn't solve by herself, never an obstacle she couldn't face alone. Even after that incident, to some degree, she believed she could live on the solitary path she had been creating for years.
But alas, reality was reality and fantasy could only fade into hopeful speculation. Ideals held no value, and acceptance was the only solution. But even so, the assignment of a bodyguard to the injured pilot during her time of recovery seemed rather ridiculous. Even despite her loss of sight in one eye and profound damage to her body, Asuka held onto the belief that she could pull through. Naturally, there was never any bodyguard in her plans - which she had no intention of rewriting.
A bitter glare was all she gave at first to the woman. A few knocks had brought Asuka onto her feet and to her door, which revealed none other than a lean, tall, and muscular figure awaiting. Palm digging against her aching, bandaged eye, Asuka furrowed her brow and deepened her scowl. Leaning heavily against the doorframe, she scoffed, letting her hair slip over her shoulder with a sardonic tilt of the head.
❝ Making a post-comatose patient get up so quickly? They really are trying to kill me. ❞
( the past few days have been far busier than usual which is something that typically happens whenever they get assigned to a case, particularly one like this. it seemed there were more and more people attempting to rebel against Sibyl. they weren't pleased with how the government had developed the current society & so small revolts were becoming more frequent. it was ridiculous in Kagari's eyes. he has no love for the system — it did screw up his entire life after all — and if there ever is a day were he could live without the judgement of Sibyl he'd happily accept it. however, he doesn't agree with the actions of the anarchists and how they've been handling things. that and it's been making more work for him and the rest of the Unit 1. Kagari's barely had any time to actually take some time to relax, not as if Ginoza would let them until they got the case finished & filed away.
it doesn't help that he's on the night shift with Yayoi and Ginoza this time. so after yawning for a bit, he glances over as the senior inspector makes his way out of the room, mentioning he'd be back in a little while. he nods in response but it is surprising when he doesn't see Yayoi acknowledge their superior's words as well. typically she's the one who hears whatever Ginoza says & Kagari's the one who either ignores the other on purpose or simply because he's too focused upon his games to pay genuine attention. so something was clearly off. )
❝ ————you okay? ❞
( this isn't the first time in the past few days where he's seen his fellow enforcer acting a little abnormal. it's been bugging him since he first realized her strange behavior. it's been subtle but he knows the other pretty well, or as well as one could when it came to Yayoi, & something is seriously upsetting her. the change is minor in fact he's certain no one else has really noticed yet. he hasn't mustered up the courage to question her about it, that and there hasn't been much free time away from the rest of the group to properly ask her. so now that Ginoza has left for a bit, maybe he can find out exactly what is disturbing the other so and maybe even help out. )
