i actually really like that kind of take on that kind of character. make them repent, learn how to really feel at least a fraction of the horror and terror they caused.

after all the shit hya inflicted on prykopys (and others, he was quite bloodthirsty), even though he freely embraced death when the time came, icthlarin (menaphite god of the afterlife in runescape) denied him any chance at reincarnation so his dangerous soul couldn’t make it back into the world and cause more unnecessary death.

hya wouldn’t have wanted to live again anyways but iccy wasn’t taking any chances.

hya doesn’t regret anything he did, he feels everything in his life was payback for what his parents put him through, so he’s content to chill in his afterlife and do whatever he pleases. 

it takes a long time for his afterlife to warp and for doubts to manifest. it takes even longer for him to finally process that what he did isn’t justified no matter what abuse he was put through himself. after the Nightmare is basically ended for his afterlife, he is able to calm down and work out inner peace and truly understand what his life was and what he did. but he still isn’t getting out of there and icthlarin sure as hell isn’t letting anyone get in contact with him. solitary confinement for the rest of this great universe.
