Obstacle Course Racing or OCR’s have gotten to become pretty serious business over the past few years. If you ask Joe Desena from Spartan Race, soon you will see racers toeing the line every 4 years at the Olympics. Organizations like Warrior Dash, Spartan Race, and BattleFrog started having a “World Championship Event” to crown a champion with cash payouts. Just recently the OCR World Championships was held in the hub of racing, Ohio, where nearly 1700 racers from 26 different countries competed to be the one true champion of OCR. The sport is really striving to become recognized as a true sport, but before it can it has to work on one glaring defect that was raised throughout the latest championship event. Discrimination.
