Hydrangea Cupcakes are a delightful treat inspired by the colorful and intricate hydrangea flowers. These cupcakes feature a marbled blue and purple interior, topped with white buttercream frosting and edible leaves to mimic the appearance of hydrangea blossoms. Perfect for special occasions or garden-themed events!
Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 1/2 tsp baking powder. 1/4 tsp salt. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 2 large eggs. 1 tsp vanilla extract. 1/2 cup whole milk. Blue and purple food coloring gel. White buttercream frosting. Edible green leaves mint leaves or fondant. Edible pearl sprinkles optional.
Instructions: Warm up your oven to 350F 175C and put cupcake liners in a muffin tin. Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl. When the butter is soft, put it in a different bowl and mix it with the sugar until it is light and fluffy. One at a time, add the eggs and beat well after each one. Add the vanilla extract and mix well. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing them in with the milk every so often. Start with the dry ingredients and end with the milk. Don't mix any further than that. Separate the cupcake batter into two equal parts. Use blue food coloring gel on one half and purple on the other. Mix until the colors you want are reached. Put a small amount of each color of batter into a cupcake liner and stack them on top of each other to make a marbled look. In a hot oven, bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean. On a wire rack, let the cupcakes cool all the way down. Make white buttercream frosting with a piping bag and a big star tip. Frost the cupcakes after they have cooled. Add a swirl to the top of every cupcake. Put edible green leaves, like mint leaves or fondant leaves, around the base of the frosting swirl to make it look like hydrangea leaves. For an extra touch of class, you can add edible pearl sprinkles to the middle of the frosting swirls if you want to. Feel free to share and enjoy your lovely Hydrangea Cupcakes!
