omg since you asked about it!!! (you didn’t)
the 🏺emoji is most resembling of an ancient greek water jar called a “hydriai” which most commonly was used for water but could also be used to hold ballots, prizes for greek games, etc. they have two handles for the fetching of water and were either commonly made of metal or terracotta. The terracotta types were sometimes glazed with a white slip and were often painted with stories using a black paint. Some of the most famous hydrai include the one that depicts the kidnapping of persephone and the siege of troy/helen of troy. (that particular emoji as far as i can tell doesn’t resemble any real hydriai that i’ve ever seen, but the slender and elongated way the walls are pulled indicate its likely modeled after a hellinistic period one. also i could be wrong cause i can’t see that small cause i have terrible eyes) anyways there you go. my infodump
