"you ask too many questions." beaming, the princess takes link's hand and tugs him away from the throne room, down a set of wide stone steps, and over to a path thick with low-hanging branches and palm fronds as big as a person. she's incredibly deft at maneuvering through it all, her free hand pushing leaves and thick brush aside, and while kida tries to help link dodge them, as well, a few end up flicking back at him on accident. "sorry." it's said with a smile, with amusement, with the kind of levity only a proud princess might contain. she doesn't let link catch his bearings or breathe for a second in a still pause — instead, she tugs him on. "quickly now."
eventually the winding dirt path turns back to stone, and the two climb up a small hill, cross a wooden bridge, then a stone bridge, and find themselves stationary at the mouth of a cave. its gaping maw, completely devoid of light, looms like an omen beside them, but kida pays it no mind, stops walking, and finally releases link's hand. "i believe our paths have crossed before," the princess explains. for someone who has just marched them a mile (at least), she is quite poised, and not out of breath. "inside this cave, there are symbols that resemble the ones you know. markings on your sword, on your shield. carvings you know. i believe it means your people have known mine. or mine have known yours... maybe you will have an answer." kida points to the cave. "follow me."
