with my last breath a flower sprouts

They put a stone cross in my place

Yet the tiny petals grow still so delicate

Centuries have passed,

rain washed away my name

The stone cross has crumbled away

Yet, still here I remain

Terror of my youth, gone with the wind

Scars of the land, healed with caloused hands

The flower round my grave beg: "Forget-me-not!",

Yet forgotten I remain
