I don't get the whole thing with essek. Like he's an interesting character and his specific dynamic with Caleb is really interesting, I like seeing him in the show but everytime I see a post about him I just ignore it, like he fits into the world and group dynamic in an interesting way but other than that he's just another elf guy

I wasn't going to add anything, but I can't resist talking about Essek. I am weak.

Ok so this is super funny to me, because I am obsessed with Essek, but I also get this. I thought Essek was amusing, but definitely didn't get the obsession with him at first. Honestly, I think it's the fact that he's just another elf guy that makes him so endearing (to me). Because at first he was this dunamancy prodigy and a cocky little shit and he's still that, but NOW we can also see the gifted kid burnout and someone lonely and normal who just wants friends and I think that's neat.

I always try to use my brother's opinions (he is much more chill than I am) on these characters to try and temper my own. Sometimes he texts me the funniest stuff, because he also doesn't get why people like Essek so much.
