Hypnotic Halloween #4: Nastasia

Background: Count Bleck's head of brainwashing and Super Paper Mario antagonist. Costume: This one is easy but requires some specific items. A purple wig is required but only needs minimal shaping to get the front right (the bob is cute but tends to look a bit silly in 3D). Black skirt and a white sleeveless blouse (with broach) make the bulk of the outfit. Of course the major part is the glasses, I have never been able to find an exact replica but I find these to be functional (They can also work in a Sailor V costume for double the usage). Makeup: Now if you get the clothes close you can forgo make up. But to go the whole hog you are going to need to paint your face and hands blue. I would always suggest Ben Nye or Kryolan brand paint as it stays on when needed but comes off easy enough with a little soap. Bonus points if: You can make your glasses glint when you push them onto your nose. People will say: "I guess you had to rush here straight from work...need a coat? You look cold...."

Hypnotic Halloween #3- Luna

Background: Runner of the Dream Suite in "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" hypnotizes the player character to allow them to visit other places. Costume: So you have options here. One is getting a full on Tapir costume and modifying it with paint and wearing a white dress over the top of it. Or you can build yourself a Papier Mâché head. Failing that a simple white dress with the distinctive three dots under each eye will convey the character pretty well. Bonus points if: You carry around cards with numbers to give people "Dream Addresses" or you mention sheep a lot. People will say: "What in the world are you?"

Hypnotic Halloween #2: Dansen Macabre

Background: Everyones favorite member of the Night Shift. Costume: A white body suit without a hood is the base for this one. Tighter the better considering Dansen has white skin. A long white wig is also needed. I would say get something like this and add the streaks yourself. The complex thing is her ribbons. I would suggest heavily starching some black ribbon and using thin wire poles attached to the suit to keep them sticking out. If that is too much work just wear the black ribbons like a shawl. Props: Some black bracelets on each wrist make the costume closer to the comic counterpart. Bonus points if: You can dance and fight Captain America People will say: "NERRRDDDDDDD!"

Hypnotic Halloween #1: Svengali

I. Love. Halloween. I know that is not surprising in the slightest. But I do enjoy an excuse to make and wear costumes. I take delight in picking and making a costume every year. And with hypnosis conventions popping up all over the place I am guessing hypnosis cosplay is going to become a thing (if not I will make it a thing). So I plan to work out a few hypnosis character themed costumer suggestions for those who fancy making their Halloween party conversations a little more awkward than normal.

Background: For this I will be using the 1931 movie version, mostly because its a more interesting costume to make. Clothes: This is the perfect outfit if you really hate being clean. Get yourself a basic white collared shirt and cheap, thin American blazer (European ones are too bulky for this) and ruin them. Rubbing them on rough surfaces like non-smoothed wood will give them a really good tattered look. The shirt can either be badly dyed brown or just dipped in paint and then hand washed a few times. A loosely tied black cravat can complete the ensemble. Props: If you can grow facial hair a pointy beard is good. If not a beard like this, fashioned into a point will do the job nicely. Make-Up: Again, grime is good. Now the famous effect from the 1931 version of the movie is our delightful lead having light up eyes. Now it is hard from humans to put LEDs behind their eyes, so your best bet to recreate this is to contrast the grime with lighting make up around your eyes to create a glow like effect. Bonus Points If: You can go with a friend who can sing on command People Will Say: "Oh you came as Fagin! I love Oliver!"

Harleypalooza

So I love Harley Quinn. The fast talking clown girl with a degree in psychology who terrorizes the streets of Gotham with a mixture of gag weapons and deadly gag weapons. She is also the perfect base for hypnosis scenes as well as general BDSM ones. So count this as some ideas for incorporating the clown princess of crime into your bedroom.

Minion Maker- I love doing Harley themed brainwash scenes, the superhero setting just screams for brainwashing into a totally expendable minion.

Hero Conversion- Harley is always a tweener, thus hero or villain conversion with her means no one is off limits. Her theme means a lot of fun can be had with Harley-fied versions of costumes and other props.

Psychology- Something I have done is mock "Pysch" appointments with Harley. These can be great for fear play as she extolls the virtues of madness to the patient and promises to help them loose the horrible condition that is sanity. 

Robbery- Harley is an expert thief. However, she tends to steal things based on her wants as opposed to their actual value, this can lead to a lot of fun as you have your subject thinking they need to "guard" an object only to have Harley to try and convince them to give it up.

Gag Weapons- I love giving a tour of the gag weapons. With some pre-planning the poor person getting the tour can find a wrong button press can lead to utter chaos.

Mind Control Villainy- A basic scene with the subject as the hero trying to stop Harley's plan to mind control the whole city, of course this gets turned on them.
