How To Prepare Your Subject’s Mind For A Hypnotic Experience?
One of the most important tasks of a hypnotherapist is to get his subject/client to completely buy into his philosophy and hypnosis ideas. The hypnotherapist needs to make them keep their minds open to whatever he’s trying to convey through his hypnotic methods.
There are a few ways to do it.
One way is, known as the more “classical way” of approaching this, is to tell the subject to keep a clear mind, devoid of any ideas. It allows him/her to be more susceptible to suggestions and those suggestions work on their unconscious mind. This method has proven to be very successful over the years, but there have been cases where it is nearly impossible for the subject/client to have a blank mind.
For those types of people, the more “indirect way” of approaching hypnosis might work better. A method where hypnotherapists make their clients think about all the suggestions that they’re being given and reflect on them during their unconscious state. This method is very much akin to self hypnosis, as here, the subject is reflecting on all the things that are being told to him/her and approaching those suggestions in his own way.
So, which way is better? Does it vary from person to person?
