The levels of stupidity are revealing. It doesn't surprise me but it's a reminder of what is out there. It creeps me out that some of these people may be in positions of responsibility. Some have children who they are brainwashing with this ignorant horseshit and worse.
Many of these responses are alluding to an obscure 1797 portrait of Lucifer by British artist Thomas Lawrence that only remotely appears similar to the statue of Liberty if you have convinced yourself so. It certainly wasn't any inspiration for the French artist Bartholdi nearly 100 years later.
Nobody worships the statue, it's meant to be respresentative of a concept. Something clearly beyond the comprehension of these people.
As an historical work of art I personally have always liked it. And as a representation of the concept of liberty, however this means different things to different people.
Since it was erected, it has unfortunately stood as a monument to Amerikkka's hypocrisy.
"Give me your tired, your poor, / Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, / Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me..." says the plaque.
As long as you're (the right kind of) white.
And even then under the best circumstances there's the issue of what could be compared to inviting people to a party in somebody else's home. After you've beaten, exploited, raped, robbed, subdued or murdered the inhabitants.
