Waltz in E-Major, Op. 15 "Moon Waltz" @hyposelenias
There should have been an emotion he should feel once his eyes caught the flowing fabric of the Damselette’s dress, a deep sated feeling that was supposed to tear at his heartstrings and make his chest heavy and empty. But none of the sort happened; if it was due to his generally uncaring nature or the rather peculiar situation they found themselves in, he couldn’t quite tell. Or simply couldn’t quite care enough to tell.
However, one thing was certain: regardless of how he felt towards her, it felt like he would do a disservice to himself to simply leave her to her own devices. Not that Columbina nor the Doctor were fighters by nature, but at least he knew how to hold himself in a fight if it came to it.
A deep sigh escaped his nostrils before he approached her, unbothered by the chaos and calamity around them. Really, there was a comedic tragedy for them to meet like this again.
“You were the second last person I’d want to see in a situation like this, but I suppose, fate is as cruel as ever.” But who better to team up with in the face of a moon invasion than the Moon Goddess herself? A fact he didn’t know if he should laugh or scoff at.
And there was one more advantage that he would gain from teaming up with his former fellow Harbinger.
“Different to the creatures flooding the city, I mean you no harm. Quite the opposite, I think your survival would be beneficial for the both of us. You must’ve heard the voice too, yes? How song is the most effective way to drive these beasts away?”
If there was one person he would genuinely trust to fulfill a task like this, it was Columbina, memories of a time long past lingering and softly ringing in his ear as he remembered her gentle tune during those lonely nights.
