Today in Latin I learned that the word hysterical come from the root word hyster which means uterus. When they did an autopsy on a woman and saw that they're uterus wasn't connected to the rest of their body the doctors, so the doctor's assumed that this was why every 3 weeks or so some women were acting moody and emotional, because their uterus were moving around their bodies causing them to be. imbalanced.

This were the word hysteria comes from. It literally translates to wandering womb/uterus. 

So when something or someone is hysterical they are basically that they are being wandering uterus.
