At first glance, you might not know who this is. And that’s fine. This is what I’ve been dubbing as Winter Suit Samus. The design of it belongs to AkaiRiot on Twitter, who posted some adorable artwork of Samus in this outfit. I then asked if I could make a sprite of it! I have two variants, though I’m only sharing this one for now.

Do any of you even know about Cybersix? Seriously, do you? The Argentinian comic turned one season anime that aired in Canada and Argentina and then later other countries? It’s an amazing show and I do really wish it was longer. Like Caulifla, Cybersix was one of those characters I knew I had to make. I also knew I had to challenge myself again with her. I opted for that challenge to be making a character who is crouching. I had NO idea how I was going to pull this off, and even using my fat body for reference pictures didn’t work. Luckily, I found a stock photo that helped me figure it out. Cybersix is a visual reference. Originally, she used the torso (but not arms) of FFBE’s Shine. Eventually most of the reference was wiped out, but since it did help me shape the sprite I want to mention it. Like the sprites I make? Consider giving them a reblog so more folks see them!

I wonder if people will think this is a late April Fool’s joke when I say this is Simon Belmont from Castlevania? Well, it ISN’T a joke. I know April 1st was just two days and it’s honestly hilarious timing, but it IS Simon! More specifically, it’s Simon as he appears in Castlevania Chronicles, a remake of the first game! Go look it up and you’ll see. That’s why he also has a sword. Not much else to say beyond this besides that he’s from scratch and that I tried to do some new stuff with shading muscles, particularly on his right arm. Like the sprites I make? “Good evening everybody! My name is Wilford Warfstache!” Here we have Markiplier’s Wilford Warfstache, the news reporter who gets to the bottom of every scoop! Making Wilford was a change of pace for me. Up until now, every sprite I had been making was always intended to carry an air of combat to them. Nobody was ever just being casual. Even the sprites of Destiny Academy Skye had a notion of action or fighting in them. So Warfstache was a very nice change of pace, simply giving a tug on his magnificent mustache.

For those wondering, I originally went through three options with the hair: one all black, one with a darker pink similar to Warfstache’s hair in the FNAF Interview, and then this one. Ultimately, I liked this one the best for two reason: it not only limited the colour palette but it made the sprite feel more vibrant. I hope Mark will be okay with this decision. Also, I learned while posting this that it’s WILFORD and not WILFRED! Crap, ahaha. ... Honestly, I hope he even sees this. XD

Here’s another Undertale set, featuring Undyne and Papyrus! It’s funny looking back at this Undyne sprite. Originally, it was the most impressive sprite I had done at the time. Now I feel like other sprites of mine are vastly superior to it. I still like it, though! Like the sprites I make? Consider giving them a reblog so more folks see them! The next set of Undertale characters brings with us Mettaton and Muffet. When it came to Muffet, I had a lot of difficulty figuring out what to do with her arms. I couldn’t have her holding stuff to represent things, since at the time I didn’t feel skilled enough to pull it off. So instead I opted for a few things: while her bottom arms are both just hanging, her middle right arm is pointing at someone, her middle left arm is holding up her top right’s elbow so she can use THAT arm to do a “ohohoho” laugh, and her top left arm is just sitting on her hip. Now THIS was a fun sprite to put together. Here we have Crono from Chrono Trigger! Originally, his clothes were even more detailed than they are now. I toned it down, however, when I realized it may be too much detail to put into bead art. It may need another round to be toned down more. Also, wow that hair was hard to do! Time for the best bad ass in Dragon Ball Super! Caulifla has quickly become my favourite character in Dragon Ball and one of my favourite characters of all time! The Universe 6 Saiyan, who is entirely from scratch - including her hair - is an amazing character. Having a character who can rival Goku’s aptitude to learn how to fight someone is so refreshing, especially when it’s an awesome lady! Something Dragon Ball has been missing for some time are some consistent fighting ladies who aren’t domesticated by family life. *glares at Chi-Chi and Videl... and somewhat at Lazuli* ANYWAY! As I said, Caulifla is from scratch. She’s also my first attempt at doing more dynamic posing from scratch. Prior to her, my from scratch pieces were Flowey, my original Leon, Winter Suit Samus and then Future Trunks. With the exception of Flowey, the other three all have very static poses. They stand mostly upright with some slight shifting in legs. However, I needed to expand outside this and Caulifla was a perfect chance. ALSO, Caulifla is the sole reason I wanted to break away from main characters only. I knew I wanted to make Caulifla (and eventually Kale), but I didn’t want her to be the first to break the “main character first” trend since I felt some people might not be happy to not get Goku.
