SEND ME A SHIP INVOLVING MY MUSE AND I'LL TELL YOU; Hyuza Edition
Who would be the big spoon? They trade, though it's usually Riza.
Who would wake up first? Hughes. Every time.
Do they have nicknames for each other? Hughes calls her Kestrel; Riza usually defaults to 'dear' or 'sweetheart'.
What happened when they met each other’s parents? Not applicable.
How do they apologise after an argument? Riza will talk quietly, humble, and it's a while later. Hughes, much sooner for the most part. They're both sincere about it.
What would they be like as parents? Hughes is already shown; he's doting, cherishing every moment he has with his children. Riza is quiet but firm, a great teacher and yet very gentle with her children; They go to Hughes when they want something, though!
Who is the better cook? Riza, by far, though Hughes is very good at it when he makes the effort.
Who is more romantic? Hughes.
What sort of gifts do they get for each other? They're a very practical couple. Riza will give him holsters/sheathes for his knives. He'll give her simple jewelry or something she'll use every day, like desk supplies and such.
Who gets jealous easiest? Hughes. She's got nothing on him in that aspect.
Who gets more excited for events e.g.. Birthdays, Christmas? Riza, though she doesn't make a big deal about it.
Who is the most adventurous? A close tie, but Riza wins.
Who is the most protective? They're both ridiculously protective of each other.
What would they have been like as childhood sweethearts? Adorable; in modern times, they might have been study buddies, both following their mutual friend, Roy, and then realizing they liked each other.
*BONUS: Song to sum them up?* "Bring me to life" by Evanescence

"You know quite well I love you back; there's a reason this ring stays on my finger." Riza twirled the phone cord around her hand. "How are things in Central? I worry about you."
So I wrote this Hyuza mini-story on a whim a while ago, set in Amal-verse. I drafted it, since we weren't anywhere NEAR this part in the story when I'd written it, but since there hasn't been any Hyuza on my dash in a long time, thought I'd share it.
Enjoy.

The dog hadn't barked. That's why I hadn't woken up. It had to have been the reason. I couldn't think of a better one, and I didn't dare think of the alternative: that I had truly grown comfortable enough her to sleep through a sound as loud as Hayate barking an alert at me. I had put the baby to bed early that night; Joy was aptly named... unlike her brother, Amal, Joy would sleep through the night and be ridiculously cheerful in the morning. Her brother, on the other hand, was all of four years old and too 'grown up' to go to bed early. He and I had spent the evening reading a bedtime story before I tucked him in to the music of his loud protests to the contrary. Finally he'd settled down, too, after I'd explained that his sister was sleeping, and that if he woke her up, dire consequences would occur. His folded arms and pouty face were things I'd long since grown immune to, though he had given it a fair shot. Shutting off the light, I had gently closed their door until only a sliver of light from the hallway shone through. Less than an hour later, I was in bed myself, asleep with Hayate curled up in front of the door to the children's bedroom I guess that's why I didn't wake until it was too late to react; the dog hadn't made a sound. What actually woke me was the movement on my bed, the shifting of the mattress as someone else's weight settled in next to me. My eyes were open instantly, and I rolled, whirling on my would-be attacker... ... only to face my husband. His scruffy face was visible in the moonlight streaming from the window, his glasses already off and set on the bedside table. Instead of the hug he was surely expecting, though, I shoved him, forcing the adrenaline out of my body. He nearly tumbled to the floor before recovering, eying me with his big, mock-hurt hazel eyes. "Miss me so much you wanted to see me come again?" he asked, laughter teasing at the edge of his voice. "You turd," I replied, glaring at him. "You nearly gave me a heart attack." "Well we can't have that," he soothed, settling in next to me and pulling me close for a long hug. "I came in on the late train, as soon as I got home from my mission. I would have called but the train was leaving right then. So I thought I'd surprise you." "You succeeded," I shot back, trying to steady my heartbeat and calm my breathing. "Good," he grinned. "And I didn't even get shot." "Could have." "Didn't." "I hate you," I whispered as I pulled him in for a kiss, "with all the love in my heart." His answer was lost in the jumble as we pressed our lips together. It had been a long three weeks. Too long. We were quiet, very aware of the children in the next room. Despite this, it wasn't long -not nearly long enough- before the quiet padding of tiny feet pulled us ever-so-slightly apart. Amal stood in the doorway, his white shock of hair bright against the dark outline of the door. "I heard Daddy..." he mumbled. "Did I dream it again?" My voice caught in my throat. I hadn't told Maes about the nightmares his son had whenever he was gone. I hadn't told him about his growing behavioral problems. I'd just pushed through them all. Thankfully Maes didn't ask. Instead, he sat up and called to our adopted son, bringing him into bed with us. The three of us cuddled til morning, safe in each others' arms.
Thirty Days of Character Development, Day Six
6.) Describe your character’s happiest memory.
Riza's happiest memory...
That's a tough one.
Canon, Probably the end of Promised Day, when everything seemed to finally be falling into place, despite Roy's blindness and the loss of loved ones. Finally, they could rest. Ed and Al were reunited, and it seemed that things were looking up for Roy's dream. She's always happiest when those around her are happy. That's her goal - the happiness of mankind. Then she can rest.
Hyuzaverse? Roy and Gracia's wedding reception, when Hughes stole the spotlight and proposed to her in front of everyone.
