Looking at the dragon quest protags. Goodness fucking gracious because several of them lost their own hometown/kingdom. List is

DQ1/Alef: In the novelization, Alef comes from the town of Damdara and it is utterly ruined. Also in said novelization, Alef biological parents were killed along with everyone else. Of course in game it’s also destroyed.

DQ2/Peronel/Princess of Moonbrooke. She’s not the main character we play as (that’s Allen/Prince of Midenhall) and she joins later, but like she’s a descendant of Erdrick too along with her cousins. Her kingdom was destroyed at the beginning of the game and everyone including her father slain. Then she was turned into a fucking dog.

DQ4: Solo/Sofia. Their chapter outright begins with their own village getting destroyed and they were targeted too of course. They manage to survive due to their best friend Eliza taking on their appearance and sacrificing herself and also since they were hidden.

DQ10/Ten Not only is their village destroyed, and their sibling kidnapped but Ten themselves fucking gets murdered. Can’t get a break smh

Dragon Quest 11/Eleven: this poor man bro, it fucking happens twice! First his native kingdom gets destroyed after his birth, and then Cobblestone (where he grew up there and was adopted) also gets destroyed due to the King ordering it burnt to the ground because eleven was raised there.

the evil anlucia of the false world is like anlucia's evil clone but if kumaris is the part of anlucia that held out against the evil then is kumaris like evil anlucia's headmate given form? or could evil anlucia herself be true anclucia's headmate and now tell me what is mishua? a alternate identity anlucia became to cope with the death of her brother? sounds like a trauma response to me.

i just think anlucia might be canonically plural in a complicated way that's hard to define. either all 4 anlucias are one system or there are 2 systems of 2 and i can't be sure which ones are paired together
