Damn Tumblr rubbing off on me with its constant discussion of Watership Down shipping so fuck it here are my favorite WSD polycules
Bigwig x Hazel x Hyzenthlay for the 1978 film, and Campion x Hazel x Primrose for the 1999 series
(Not to be confused with the actual character Dewdrop in the 2018 miniseries), but in terms of Watership Down shipping I can picture any of Hyzenthlay's romantic partners calling her "dewdrop" as an affectionate nickname.
Hazel, Bigwig, Holly, Clover, you name it. Hyzenthlay is their dewdrop.

noticing that one thing I like about my favorite wsd m/f ships is that they're not canon. it leaves the option for them to be friends and i like that. initially i liked that bigwig and hyzenthlay didn't end up together, because it showed that they could be friends and not shoehorned into a couple as is so often seen as the only possible dynamic between a male and a female character. then i ended up shipping it anyway because they have better chemistry than hazel/hyz imo (though i do think hazel and hyz would get on really well). similar with campion and primrose! i was glad when he got over her respectfully because it showed that he respected her choices. and then i shipped them anyway because they have wayyy more interesting stuff going on than primrose and hazel.
anyway. i think non-canon het ships sometimes have a level of ambiguity that canon ones often don't. and i think that's neat
