ZEVRANS CHANGING APPEARANCE & LIFE IN HIDING

After the archdemon was defeated, Zevran Arainai became a known name for assisting the Hero of Ferelden in their plight against the darkspawn. Especially as he was present in the battle. This of course lead to his old employers discovering that he was in fact alive and actively working outside of them. They have been ( somewhat halfheartedly ) been keeping an ear to the ground for him ever since. 

Zev was on the move constantly after that, quickly conquering survival on the run. As he aged he changed somewhat. Under the cold Ferelden sky his hair began to fade from honey to a pale brown, & to his surprise a small tuft of facial hair began to fade in around his maw. After a few months of living with this drab colour, Z coated the whole thing in rich dark dye and used it as an excuse to disguise himself. Without his lashings of blonde hair he was less easy to recognise, after all, but he finds he regrets it on the odd occasion. 

The elf is also notably more tired. Most poignantly his undereyes are a mite darker than they were before, but he passes that off as age. After all, he was barely twenty when he joined with the wardens. Or so his excuse goes anyway. Of course, everything else about him is the same. Save for a few more scars perhaps. 

Ten years dodging the crows has meant for some peculiar habits. Patrolling the walls, odd sleeping schedule, a slow approach to trust. Jumpiness, especially. Also, on a more positive note, a renewed appreciation for warm meals every night. Skyhold is the first long-term place he has stayed since he was with the HoF, & he’s not sure he’ll ever settle in. Despite protection from the Inquisition ( and Leliana, a force within herself ) he is still afraid, though he would never admit. To anyone. Ever. Under any circumstance. Trust me.
