The day started out well enough. Which, given the current track record, means that something is going to go wrong. Mesmer Jr was sitting in her office looking over some documents. Lilya stopped by to drop off some snacks and to have a quick chat, nothing more.
That's when the rumbling started.
First, it was the cup of water on the desk. Then the windows started rattling. The ground started to vibrate with growing intensity, and then Mesmer heard a sound she didn't expect to hear again for a long while. The sound of countless cheerful voices shouting "Woohoo!"
Rushing out of her office she looks around the building, seeing countless pink shapes rampaging through the Foundation. There are thousands of them, eating everything edible that's not locked away, crashing into projects, messing with monitors, blocking off hallways, breaking machines with their sheer numbers.
In the coming days this would be known as the Pink Tide Incident.
Or, in other news, I accidentally flooded my Ranch with Pink Slimes and I'm trying to get rid of them all, and I thought it'd be funny if Mesmer Jr had to deal with something similar but on a much larger scale.
And yes, they have infiltrated the entire foundation. Weeks later they're still finding stragglers.
"Mesmer, do you know these things?"
Mesmer staring at a pink blob with a grim sense of recognition: No.
As fun as it sounds, and as comical as it might be for SOME of the Laplace members (and terribly disdainful for the Rehabilitation center workers), this small incident, of unknown occurrence, has caused many, MANY downs in projects.
Mesmer Jr would and absolutely will act as though she doesn't know the countless pink blobs that follow after her, and she will not acknowledge their existence as she locks herself inside a room and tries to find out the reason why they've appeared in this place.
As for Laplace... Well what can you do against slime, really? The pink apocalypse has begun, and each worker must save what they can of their projects. Even passersby like Windsong get losses after a rogue slime blob devours her latest Leylines map when she stepped into Laplace for verification.
She has gone Into depression ever since. I hope you are happy.
Yes, Mesmer is not a huge participant in this apocalypse, she'd rather stay locked in and save herself the struggle of surviving out there. Plus, she has information she would rather keep, well, uneaten by a blob of slime with a face, so she has to make sure it all remains untouched. Even if war is happening outside.
Ulrich, as the half director of Laplace, is stunned, to say the least. While Enigma, the other half director, tries to find a solution, Ulrich watches in despair before leaping into actions.
"We must eliminate the threat as soon as possible!"
"but how?!"
Honorable mention to Hissabeth, whose sibling got eaten by a blob and she has been fighting tooth and nail to get it out of the slime. She deserves it.
Either way. Back on topic.
The threat disappeared randomly a couple hours afterwards, leaving everyone speechless and out of breath. Some, like Medicine Pocket, will fondly remember this day, even if they did lose a machine. Others, like Hissabeth, will never be the same.
The snake is fine, alive, but traumatized for life.
As for Mesmer Jr, she's now quite reluctant to go back into that dimension because if those things escaped from her escape of reality, then that means her whole "calm place" is a mess, and she doesn't want to deal with that.
Also, word got to Madam Lucy, who was physically restrained from going to Laplace by the suitcase members and Ms Simone, who delivered the news.
And remember, don't mess with Laplace. They're one mistake from going insane.
