I've been battling with numerical reasoning tests once again today.

I cannot maths. I tried to do one of the tests KPMG use, as practice and I got 1 out of 18.

Obviously I understand with accountancy firms and the like, but why do so many other graduate schemes make applicants do these tests? Like, if you want someone who's that much of a whizz with statistics then state on the application that only people with maths based degrees need apply.

You normally get about a minute per question. 50 seconds of which I spend struggling to understand the question and what it wants you to do. And in the final 10 seconds I give up and make a rather panicky guess.

I don't cheat but I'm so tempted to ask my accountant sister to do it for me. Because there's no way in hell I'm getting past any numerical reasoning test, ever.
