Warnings: Sadness. All over all sadness..

Pairing: Chris Evans x Reader
Chris smiles down at his daughter, Watching as she played with her new toys. Her birthday was tomorrow, And Chris was spoiling her to extremes. He wanted her to know how her birthday was a big deal. Even with you gone. You used to spoil her everyday, Making sure she knew how important she was in both of your lives.
“Daddy! Look! Barbie is going out with the Ken! Can you please be Ken daddy?” His daughter stretched out her chubby hand, A Ken doll in hand.
He smiled and nodded, Wanting to spend as much time with her as possible. Sebastian and Hayley had dropped by earlier, To chill and say hi to the birthday girl. His daughter was moving the barbie around, Making up scenarios and acting them out. She had a big imagination, Just like you did. She was always curious of those around her, Talking to random people and making everyone crack a smile. The first time you brought her into set, He was in a interview, And she ran away when she heard his voice.
She ran into the room, And jumped on him to give him a hug and tons of kisses. He apologized, But they didn’t mind. You were out of view, Smiling and the two of us. You thought he didn’t see you, But he did. When the interview was over, You had showed her to everyone, And everyone immediately fell in love. They had only seen her in pictures and videos, And seeing her in person brought big smiles on their face. Sebastian kept telling her to call him ‘Uncle Sebby’ But she always called him ‘Uncle Seabass’.
Scarlett always wanted to babysit her, And don’t even bring up Carly. She wanted to practically adopt you. She always tried to keep you over, And shower you in hugs and kisses. Dodger always wanted to cuddle with her, And would always sneak into her room just to sleep with her. He would try to be extra sneaky and leave in the morning so no one would notice. But one day he forgot, And we woke up to find Dodger under the covers with her tiny arms wrapped around him.
“Daddy? Daddyyy?”
He broke away from his thoughts, His daughter looking up at him with worried and curious eyes.
“What is it honey?” He cleared his throat, Sitting straight.
“You’re not paying attention! Are you sick? Do you need a doctor?” She sat on his lap, Examining his face.
“No no. Daddy is just feeling out of it that’s all.” He smiled, And kissed her nose to assure her nothing was going on.
“Is it about mommy again?” She spoke in a quiet voice, Knowing the topic was almost forbidden to talk about.
“No no. Don’t worry about anything!” He stood up, Picking her up with him. “It’s time to go to bed. Let’s go to bed now bug”
He walked toward her room, Watching as she looked at him with sad eyes, Understanding fully why her father was acting to weird. He bathed her and made sure her hair was unmatted, Clothing her in her Elsa nightie.
“Good night daddy” She kissed his cheek and he laid her on the bed, Making sure she was comfortable.
“Goodnight honey.” He kissed her forehead, Getting up from the bed and exiting the room.
He made his way toward his room, Closing the room and sitting on the edge of the bed. He looked down at his phone, Scrolling through the contacts. He tapped your name to message you, His other unread messages still there.
‘Hey.. It’s her birthday in two days.. I still hope you could make it. She really misses you. I thought about you all day.. I really hope you can come soon..’
He sent the message, Knowing full well it would not be delivered to you. He made a bold move and decided to call you, Only wanting to hear your voice. Even though you wouldn’t pick up.
“Hey! It’s (Name) here! Looks like I can’t pick up my phone right now. I’ll call you back when I can!”
He sighs and smiles, Happy to hear your voice after so long. He loved the way you could whisper into his ear, If it was sexual or just words of encouragement, He loved it.
He laid on the bed, Too lazy to switch to anything comfortable. You side of the bed was cold. Like it has been for a few years. He still had your perfume, And everything is how you left it. You looked at your side of the bed, Tears burning his eyes. He knew he couldn’t cry, Since you wouldn’t like that. He needed to be strong.
He cleared his throat, Closing his eyes and waiting to see if a pleasent dream would go his way.
He was in the hospital, Holding your hand tightly. You looked worse than you did yesterday. Your eyes looked hollow, and you had bags under your eyes. You have been in a coma for a month. He would clean you and brushed your teeth, Making sure you looked well when you woke up. He would brush your hair, And your daughter would put her toys around the room, Making sure you felt at home.
She would speak to you, And play her toys in your room. Chris would stay after hours with you, Kissing your hand and looking at your beautiful face. Doctors said you wouldn’t make it. That the chances were slim of you waking up. But he didn’t lose hope. He begged the doctors to keep helping you, Making sure you had the best treatment. But.. Even the doctors could do so much.
The day came.. Where he had to pull the plug. He kept begging and begging, But the doctors couldn’t do anything. You had to wake up. You had to! You had to be there for your birthday. For your daughters graduation. For her wedding. You couldn’t just leave without a word! He looked at your still body, Tears falling down his face. The cancer had spread too much. It was the end of the line. Your organs were already shutting down.
Dodger sat at the edge of the bed, Whining and tapping your feet, Expecting you to wake up and scratch his head where he always liked it. Your daughter was at school. He couldn’t let her see this. He can’t let her go through something so hard at such a young age. He said his goodbyes, Taking Dodger out of the room and signing the required papers.
He watched with dead eyes at what the doctors were doing, Sebastian and the others outside the door, Just incase he had an emotional breakdown. He watched as the heart beat monitor slowed down. He watched your chest as your breaths got shallow. He broke down when the heart monitor stopped completely. The haunting sound of the long beeps echoing in his mind. He kneeled on the floor, Hugging his chest and tears falling down his face. The others came inside the room, Asking the doctors for a few minutes alone.
Everyone cried that day. Carly took his daughter for a week and he spent the night at his mother’s house. He cried every night.
He woke up to his alarm, His eyes wet with tears. He has had that same dream for a few weeks now. He hated it. But his daughter was always there to make him feel better. When he looked at his daughter, He thought of you. Of the creation you both created. She looked just like you. She had your eyes and your personality, While she had his hair and small freckles. He took her to school everyday, And made sure she did her homework at 7 every night.
He loved how she would bring home a mother’s day card every year, Telling him how he was her mother and father. She always made drawings of the three of you, And always brought small pieces of food whenever there was a special occasion at school.
He stood up from the bed, Turning off the light from his nightstand he was too lazy to turn off. He took a shower and made breakfast, Making sure everything was ready for the birthday girl. He made her favourite, Which was your favorite too. His daughter woke up with all the clustering he was making, And her eyes immediately lit up. She ran toward him, Hugging him tightly.
That night, Everyone was at his house. Celebrating her birthday. They brought presents and plenty of extra presents. There was a big cake, And they even dressed as their characters. Sebastian as Bucky, Scarlett as Natasha and so on.
She stood in front of the cake, Smiling at everyone as they sang happy birthday to her. He watched her blow the candles, And bend down to give her a kiss on the forehead. He looked back up, And immediately froze. You were standing there. Smiling at him. You blew him a kiss and kissed your daughter’s head. And just like that.. You disappeared.
