The boy let out a loud laugh, feet kicking out as his mother picked him up. His hands fisted into the fabric of her top before glancing around with a grin, "Where's papa, Ma~?" He wanted to show the pebble that his mother had securely tucked away to his father figure rather eagerly. (*leaves the identity of the father up to you*)

"Papa is…" She looked about for her husband, but Thomas was nowhere to be found. Had he come with them in the first place? Now that she thought about it…probably not.

"Papa’s at home making lunch for us, baby. I hope. But if he’s not…we’ll just have to surprise him, won’t we?" She poked the end of her son’s nose with a laugh, wrinkling her own nose. "We’re going to have the most yummiest thing ever. Maybe we could invite one of your friends over, too!"
