jack gets promoted to general and the literal first thing he does while still standing on the god damn podium is to promote sam. he was so down badddd
He so hates being the center of attention he made the center of his attention the center of everyone else’s attention. (“Don’t look at me look at my wife she’s much cooler!”)
It’s very telling of his character. He so believes the reason he’s here is her & the team he does what he can to bring up the fact that he was not alone. And obviously she deserves the promotion and to become SG1’s leader after him but he could’ve ensured that after he got promoted and the whole thing was over.
